Wood pellet is renewable energy

"Wood pellet is renewable energy"

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) rejected a lawsuit filed in March 2019 by environmental and wildlife activists from Estonia, France, Ireland, Romania, Slovakia and the United States.

Activists say the ECJ will reflect forest biomass energy in the EU's 2030 regeneration target and allow it to receive financial assistance.
We have filed a complaint to nullify the provisions of the 2018 Renewable Energy Guidelines.

Activists argued that the 2018 guidelines violated the EU treaty by failing to "preserve, protect or improve" the quality of the environment, protect human health, or carefully apply natural resources.

The plaintiffs argued that the 2018 guidelines ignored available scientific data on climate change due to the burning of forest biomass.

The ECJ rejected the case on the grounds that the 2018 Renewable Energy Guidelines, where activists competed, did not prove to them that they were "personal attention," but the ECJ has left open the possibility of a possible ECJ preliminary ruling on national direct action and enforcement of the guidelines.

The 2018 Renewable Energy Guidelines allow EU member states to adopt additional national sustainability and greenhouse gas emission reduction standards for biomass, and the EU's overall target quota for renewable energy at 32% of the energy mix is mandatory and subject to review in 2023.
